We visited tonight whilst staying locally and thought the food, drinks and service were all excellent! Seems like the pub has recently reopened under new hands and these guys definitely know what they’re doing! Wish them every success and will be back 😃

Four of us dined Sunday. Based on a recommendation and what a recommendation it was . The food was excellent, well presented, well seasoned. Good potion size.
Excellent Empanadas, truffle mushrooms, trout was superb, lemon sole massive.
If you like lovely food you should seriously think of going here.

4 of us had lunch here for the first time, we received a warm welcome by a lovely waitress , the menu was very impressive , the choices of drinks as-well , the service was excellent , food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented, I could have licked my plate 🍽️ all of our plates were empty lol, sauces and the leek dish served with the trout mmmm 😋 can’t wait till next time! Chef Justin came to speak to us and we thanked him personally, keep up this standard and wishing y’all the very best for 2025.

We had such an incredible gastronomic experience at The Kirkmichael Arms that we ended up eating there four nights in a row! What a find!! Their newly acquired Michelin Guide recommendation is well deserved and I would recommend that you get there quick smart before the news gets out and you can’t book a table. This place will take off!
Situated in the quaint village of Kirkmichael, the pub under new and skilled ownership offers wonderful food and beers. Justin and his team are passionate about the food they serve with personal service and a story behind every dish, it’s hard not to be as enthusiastic as they are about what they offer - real paddock/ocean to plate collaborations.
The scallops are exquisite. The venison empanadas are out the door. Literally every dish on both their a la carte and their bar menu was sampled over the course of four days and every one a cracker! Equally their German Pale Ale (GPA) and Munich Red from the WEST brewery were on point.
This place was a joy to discover and we’ll be back without doubt as The Kirkmichael Arms is punching way above its weight. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Definitely a place worth visiting, South ayrshire has definitely been lacking a pub with decent food and the recent upgrade here is a welcome addition to the food scene in South ayrshire, coupled with extremely good service is definitely worth the drive, id recommend the wild mushroom tart with fungi from the local forests when in season off course, there is great wine pairings available with each dish. Comfortable restaurant and cozy bar next door, well done guys keep up the good work, id recommend booking because this place will be busy!

Picking up some tasty pies from Dalduff Farm and this was a delightful surprise nearby, with nice food and the most amazing desserts. Loved the very tender chicken schnitzel and the unbelievably delicious tart with poached pear.

Stumbled upon this place from looking on Google maps for a restaurant.
I gave them a call 30 mins prior and we got a table straight away. Group of 5 lads.
Can't remember the guys name but gave us a nice welcome and showed us through the menus.
Excellent food. In fact definitely the best venison pie I've ever had.
Really nice atmosphere.
Not overpriced!
Just simply great food!
Would highly recommend!

Excellent food, wonderful service, the only thing that spoiled our enjoyment was a singer in the pub side of the establishment that wasn't great. I'm sure the locals were having a good time but the singer took the shine off the experience. Would definitely go back though.

Came upon this pub (open Thursday to Sunday) after a walk locally.
Dog friendly in the bar!
Had a fab smoked butter & cauliflower hummus bar snack. Plus the pub's speciality beer.
Warm welcome from Roy. The restaurant menu looks fab. A bit different from standard pub fare. Will be back to try it.
Has a regular quiz night, open-mic nights and other events.

We came across the Kirkmichael Arms whilst passing through Kirkmichael and what a hidden gem it turned out to be. The food was incredible, we were spoiled for choice with the thoughtfully put together high quality meals, which were extremely tasty and beautifully presented. The staff were so warm and welcoming, with myself my husband and our 6 year old daughter. Lovely children's menu also, with little activities and crayons provided. Lovely atmosphere and decor, even down to the lighting, it was just a lovely place to be, a real treat all round. We look forward to going back.

1st time and it was awesome. We had our dog therefore relegated to the bar, no dogs in restaurant. Bar is small and cozy huge tv screen. Food wise the menu is extensive as you can choose between bar and restaurant menu plus there were several specials on. There was four of us and we thoroughly enjoyed the food especially my brother who is a bit fussy. My only suggestion would be to have a specials board as our server had to reel them off, by the time he had finished we couldn't remember them as there were so many. Lovely village pub great food would definitely go back.

An absolutely superb meal and evening. We came with a group of 20 to have the sharing menu and we were SPOILT! The quality of every single plate was exceptional and the amount we had was generous. There was not a single hungry person in our group. The vegetarians and gluten free folks of our group were well catered to and the service was kind and accommodating to our (at times) chaotic group.
We gave our chefs and waiters a well deserved round of applause. Everything was seamless and well-orchestrated.

First visit and won’t be the last. The food was delicious, twists of Asian flavours and homely choices. Loved how there are drinks recommended for each course. The waiter was welcoming and friendly. A pleasure from start to finish.

This restaurant and the food is amazing. We visited last week and could not fault anything. The staff were amazing, the service was quick and the food is top class. I had the special baked oyster starter with sum Tom salad , fillet steak and sticky date pudding. It was fab. My husband had the smoked salmon starter, fillet steak, and custard tart. I sampled mine and my husband's and it was all presented well and delicious. The smoked salmon is smoked in house and is out of this world and the best we have ever had. The salad with the oysters was perfect with a lovely heat and spice. The fillet steaks were cooked perfectly. All the food was perfect and delicious. The first time we have cleared our plates on all courses. We will definitely be back ❤️

We have been waiting for this place to re open. The wait was well worth it. Service was excellent. Couldn't ask for more polite staff. Any questions we had were answered. When we came to order the food it was no problem to exchange my husbands chips for salad. I had the Thai Fish Finger sandwich which was excellent. Will definitely be back soon

Had an outstanding meal on the restaurant side of The Kirkmichael Arms. Appetizers, drinks, and mains were all on point. After our meal, we popped over to the pub side for an after dinner drink. The bar staff was great and the clientele were warm and welcoming. I look forward to a return visit.

A lovely cosy pub with friendly service, a great drinks menu and outstanding food! The menu has classics to cater for everyone such as a pie of the week, fish and chips and grill items but the specials and Thai inspired dishes really shine. The Thai spiced venison empanadas are a must try. Beautifully spiced and rich. The rabbit special with chanterelle mushrooms and truffle gnocchi I would eat every night if I could. The lamb was also perfectly cooked. Don’t overlook the cocktails- homemade seasonal syrups and tinctures and the best cocktail I’ve had all year. Fantastic locally sourced ingredients, a passionate team of chefs and a lovely atmosphere.

Upmarket. I think they might be going for a Michelin Star, as the food is not usual at all: venison, chanterelles, truffles... Great place. Feels luxurious, but you don't need to be "black tie" to eat here.

Been a customer of this place for years before it changed hands was always fantastic with very reasonable prices. Decided to give the new owners time to get up and running before trying out.Well what a disaster wife had lamb and I had chicken pie. Lamb was so undercooked it was as if it had just come straight from the animal onto the plate and the so called veg were covered in some sort of slime, all served with no potatoes or chips that was it.
My pie had almost no pastry and was more like chicken & mushroom soup served with a sorry helping of truffel mash that was far to salty ,also served with no veg.
Needless to say but I will never be back .If they don't get the kitchen sorted out quickly I'm afraid they will be closing down before they know it .
P.s waiting staff were friendly and helpful it's not there fault ,it's just a shame that they always get all of the stick.
